Exploring How to Style Your Plinths

Plinths are used as a base to support and highlight product. We see them in gallery settings, expo pop ups and window displays, just to name a few. The plinth is a highly versatile unit that can be easily moved around into different positions to allow for different orientations and set ups. The Market Stall Co range of plinths is ever-growing to include different shapes, styles and colour options to suit your retail and event needs and here you can start exploring how to style your plinths.

Don't Be Afraid to Mix Finishes

We love seeing mixed finishes in a retail or popup space and find that in particular the warmth of raw radiata plywood and a low sheen painted finish complement each other extremely well!

The contrast allows you to seperate different product collections through visual breaks or different brands, which is ideal when you’re a company with multiple brands attending.

In a retail store with timber display furniture, or even metal (if you like that sort of thing) consider adding a pop of paint to the window display to reflect emerging trends, new product lines or shifts in seasons.

Go Textured

Adding texture to the facade of your display products gives them a customised upgrade, that considers aesthetics as well as functionality and sets the tone for the rest of the brand. We can achieve this in house with routed channels to create vertical and horizontal lines.

A great example below is from a skincare brand who wanted to make their pop up feel like a bathroom, so went for tile-look etching to add storytelling value to their pop up. A great way of visual merchanidising!

Another favourite textural add of mine is half round channels to create a ripple-look facade.

Branding Plinths

Put your display furniture to work by incorporating it into your brand exposure strategy. Use visually aiding tools to encourage brand interaction in your space. Form connections and links between the product and your brand through colours, imagery, logos and styling.

DECAL LOGO - make your logo clearly visible to amplify your brand. You may create an engaging, impactful display through other mediums but it means nothing without association to your brand, making logo incorporation essential.

CUSTOM PAINT COLOURS - create visual harmony with your products or evoke clear association with your brand.

VINYL WRAP - achieve different finishes, such as a marbling effect, with a vinyl adhesive wallpaper or use it as an opportunity to share your favourite brand images that are meaningful to your product and brand.

Styling Plinths

Classically the plinth is a gallery style display option for museums, galleries, photographers and collectors to highlight an item or product, but as we step into the retail and event world, there are multiple creative ways to use them.

GROUPED - together, the plinths create a large tabletop space for display.

ON THEIR SIDE - create further height variations by placing them on their side and change up the configuration.

STACKED - create a fun styling tool by placing square boxed plinths on top of one another.

MIXED - use a mix of box, round and quarter circle shaped plinths in the same display area.
